State of Affairs by Vera Roberts
What happens when you hate someone so much you end up connecting with that person?
Senator Jacob “Jay” Edwards is a force to be reckoned with. With White House aspirations and a
powerful wife by his side, he could only go up. When a national tragedy puts the spotlight on him, he’ll need to make it go away as soon as possible. He has his eye on the very person to help with him that.
Briana Gooding is tired of protesting, hashtagging, and being angry whenever a case of police brutality happens. When the opportunity to put a dent into Senator Edwards political dreams occur, she moves full throttle. If he won’t listen to her speaking demands, he’ll definitely listen to her in the bedroom.
State of Affairs is an erotic short that deals with race relations, police brutality, and bedroom politics.
Kieran: Irish Sugar by Kassanna
Kieran O’Shea gave less than a damn about pretenses. He’d seen the ugliness of life. Wallowed in it. Survived it. Then took it up a notch, and thrived in the chaos.
His one redemption, Derrica “Rica” Ward. She was the beam of light in his dark world. Until a bastard took her…he was reclaiming what was his.
The devil has name, it’s Kieran O’Shea and he’s bringing hell with him.
That’s me—Tingly Simmons—athlete, foreign-language major, professor lover, obsessed idiot girl. Definitely not a frat rat or sorority slut. I’ve never even played beer pong.
I ditched the vapid, soulless high-society life of Los Angeles for the promise of something more meaningful in rural Ohio. Accepting a track scholarship for college, I tried running my way to happiness, but instead I ended up sleeping with my French professor and falling head over heels for him.
When that relationship fell apart, so did I.
Barely hanging on by a thread and using the most absurd coping skills, I was determined to hide behind my past indiscretions. That was, until I met Tiberius Jones. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d learn the truth about love from a six-foot-five basketball player.
And I just found a new author to check out.
Winter’s Icy Heart by Shea Swain
Winter Stratton convinced herself that love was like lightning and it only struck once. She found the love of her life and lost him. Yet, even when she felt nothing romantic for the friend who helped her through hard times, a sense of obligation pressed her to give him a chance. Winter didn’t expect her ‘friend turned lover’ might just be the death of her.
When Cord Kesso decided to step in and rescue Winter and her daughter from what looked like a bad situation during a snow storm, he felt an instant attraction to the pixie of a woman. Offering her a place to wait out the storm through the holidays was the gentlemanly thing to do. If they made a connection, even better. When Cord saw something he wanted, he went all in. Fighting Winter’s doubts was one thing. Fighting for their lives…a whole other thing entirely.

Those books all sound wonderful. I’m particularly interested in the Irish Sugar book (yum). Thank you for participating in the Color of Love Blog Hop.
All three books sound interesting, but State of Affairs tops the list for me. I love discovering new authors.
My preference in IR romance is Black Woman White Man, but more importantly I love IR romance that is not about race.
